Project 58 to 60

Give myself at least 30 days to settle in before starting video dubbing.

Dub VHS systematically....some are 6 hours.  Dub TO externals.  This is very achievable.

Doing these two things will greatly reduce footprint and will accomplish preservation goals.

MVPs vs The Purge

I'm past 60 now...an update. At 50, I was taking inventory of my life and my possessions and started scanning more items thinking of having my life on a flash drive (figuratively).

Turning 60 created an awareness of scanning and preserving with a focus on storytelling and sharing with others.  But will also be a time to think about what I really need to hang on to.  On Counting Cars, Danny started selling cars and only keeping cars that "touched his soul".  In that spirit, it will be time (at 60) to start selling, throwing or donating things that are not part of that inner circle...the MVPs (most valuable possessions).  Bring "joy"...

Early lists:

MVPs
Bendix radio
Frank's radio
Legacy Corgi and Matchbox
Select diecast (Hot Wheels, etc)
Frank's pool cue and t-square
Indian ashtray
Rolf
Barclay's metal car
'40 Ford roadster
Frank's harmonicas
Childhood toys/guys
Stuff in lawyer case (can't be all)  What about Soakies??
Orange Fiestaware
Yearbooks I guess unless I can scan/take pictures of all that I would care to have
Boy Scout stuff?
Boy Scout compass
Pentel pencil
Red Phone
Frank ashtray
Brown Camp Ashtray and clipboard

And now add all that I'm taking from 1030

Factor in items like the Red Binders of photos and cases.

Purge-eligible
Go through diecast and set aside those that seem expendable.  Check with Jacob and Maddy to make sure they don't have "Car City" attachments.  Then try to sell on Craigslist or Facebook.

Set aside cars for Brayton.

Albums - Definitely can tighten up here.  45s as well.
Baseball and basketball cards
Baseball and basketball books?
Posters I'll never hang
Cassette Tapes (make sure I have photos of cases)
Video Village - cool, but not technically mine.  More of a memory and I can captures what I want from it.
Rock collection
